Official Description
The Limestone Renaissance Faire started with a wish to bring something fun and unique to Limestone through a brainstorming session of the Limestone Development Foundation in the spring of 2018. Some members of the organization suggested a medieval-themed event that would bring together interested members from throughout the local community as well as tourists from Maine and beyond.
The Limestone Development Foundation secretary, Karralena Castaway, who is also the leader of Twin Riverswood, a local medieval educational non-profit, was asked if she would take on the task. In May 2019, the first Limestone Renaissance Faire was held in the Limestone Community School Gymnasium. The first event brought people from near and far, and requests for future Faire’s were resounding. With a global pandemic that swept the globe, the event was postponed, but spirits never waivered and planning never ceased. The event was brought back in 2021 at the Bunker Inn made complete with performers, merchants, and educational opportunities.
